In 1983, 39-year-old Meena Bindra took out a loan of ₹8,000, sourced raw material, hired a tailor and a block printer. Following that, she made 40 pieces of “Punjabi Suits” stitched in three sizes each. She then invited her friends to try them out. This was the beginning of the brand Biba. Today, it is one of India’s largest lifestyle brands in the women's Indian wear market. It held a 4% market share (excluding sarees) in FY20. The company develops, designs, sources, markets and sells a wide portfolio of Indian wear for women and girls such as salwar kameez dupattas, Mix-n-Match wear, Ready-to-Stitch wear, kidswear, bottom-wear and accessories. The company’s flagship brand is BIBA, and its value-fashion brand is Rangriti. As of December 31, 2021, Biba Fashion had 427 Exclusive Brand Outlets, 930 Large Format Stores and 30 Multi Brand Outlets across India. Its products are also sold in Canada, Nepal, UAE, USA and Australia. The company also sells its products through its websites and online marketplaces. Online sales accounted for 37% of its revenue in FY21. Now, this company is all set to launch the Biba Fashion IPO. The Biba Fashion ltd IPO will be a combination of an offer for sale and a fresh issue. The money raised through the fresh issue of the Biba Fashion IPO will be used for the repayment of borrowings.
