Symbiotec Pharmalab is a science based pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, driven by research and development with over 30 years of industry experience. It was incorporated in 2002 after founding as a lab-scale steroidal-hormone API manufacturer in 1995. Over the years, the company has evolved into an industrial-scale, backward-integrated manufacturing platform with capabilities across organic chemistry, biotechnology and complex injectables. As of March 31, 2026, Symbiotec had over 200 customers in more than 40 countries including leading generic and specialty pharmaceutical companies in the United States, Europe and Asia. The company has global volume market shares at 38.2% and 23.8% for corticosteroid APIs and steroidal-hormone APIs respectively as of FY26. It is also the only Indian and global company with a presence across the top 10 corticosteroid and steroidal-hormone APIs. The company operates as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), providing services to specialty pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies globally. Symbiotec operates through three complementary business verticals: API products, CDMO services and complex injectables. In FY26, API products accounted for 96.07% of revenue from operations at ₹835.01 crore, while complex injectables contributed 3.80% at ₹33.05 crore and CDMO services contributed 0.13% at ₹1.09 crore. The company has a product portfolio of over 60 corticosteroid and steroidal-hormone APIs supplied globally, including Hydrocortisones, Betamethasones, Methylprednisolones, Progesterones, Estrogens and Testosterones. These products are used across critical care setups and chronic therapeutic areas. As of March 31, 2026, Symbiotec operated two industrial-scale API manufacturing facilities with a maximum chemical synthesis capacity of 584.67 metric tonnes (MT) and fermentation capacity of 300 kilolitres (KL). The Rau Facility in Indore houses sterile and non-sterile corticosteroid API manufacturing blocks, with a maximum capacity of 92 MT as of March 31, 2026. The Pithampur Facility comprises dedicated and isolated blocks for steroidal-hormone and corticosteroid API manufacturing, with a maximum fermentation capacity of 300 KL and maximum chemical synthesis capacity of 492.67 MT. The company has also commissioned two additional manufacturing facilities at Ujjain and Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, taking its aggregate maximum chemical synthesis capacity to 584.67 MT, maximum fermentation capacity to 700 KL and complex injectables capacity to 20 million vials per annum. As of March 31, 2026, Symbiotec had over 50 domestic customers and over 150 export customers, serving key generic and specialty pharmaceutical companies across North America, Europe and Asia. The company added 101 new distinct customers in FY26. In FY26, 67.04% of revenue from operations was generated from international markets, while 32.96% was generated from domestic markets, including indirect exports to regulated markets. Europe contributed 29.11% of revenue while the United States contributed 13.12% and the rest of the World contributed 24.81% in FY26. As of March 31, 2026, Symbiotec’s R&D staff comprised 156 scientists and engineers. Of these, 117 had master’s degrees and 10 possessed PhDs. The company has spent 3.42%, 4.14% and 2.86% of revenue from operations on R&D in FY26, FY25 and FY24 respectively. The continued global prevalence of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and inflammatory bowel disease continue to drive demand for corticosteroid active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Research shows that up to 10% of people in industrialised nations suffer from at least one autoimmune disease. The steroid hormones API market is also boosted by rising demand for reproductive health, metabolic disorder and hormone replacement therapies. The specialty ingredients market, which includes nutraceuticals, functional foods, industrial enzymes, and agricultural biologicals, was valued at US$ 749.0 billion in 2025, and is projected to expand at a CAGR of 6.7% over the period from 2025 to 2030. The biologics pharmaceutical market is estimated to be worth US$82.3 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 11.0% creating opportunities in the company's biotechnology-led efforts. Symbiotec has invested over ₹798.61 crore in the last three fiscal years to build additional capacities and capabilities in API and complex injectables manufacturing. Capital expenditure was ₹237.31 crore in FY26, ₹392.90 crore in FY25 and ₹176.66 crore in FY24. A slow shift in fermentation API production away from China is being driven by growing geopolitical concerns, supply chain vulnerabilities and tightening environmental regulations. Against this backdrop, Symbiotec has observed an increase in requests for proposals from global pharmaceutical companies. The company expects this trend to support further expansion of its market share, particularly in the United States and European Union markets, supported by its regulatory track record. Now, Symbiotec Pharmalab is launching its initial public offering (IPO), which consists of a fresh issue of ₹150 crore and an offer for sale of ₹1,607 crore only. The total issue size of the IPO is ₹1,757 crore. Its shares will be listed on the NSE and BSE. ### **How to apply for Symbiotec Pharmalab IPO?** If you are interested in this investment opportunity but unsure how to apply for Symbiotec Pharmalab IPO, here are the steps that you need to follow.
